About the Newcastle area
Professional team

Newcastle-upon-Tyne, or locally just Newcastle, is widely regarded as the capital of the North East. Central to the region's cultural and economic offering Newcastle is a busy and popular city attracting people from all over the country, and indeed the world, to work, study, shop and party with the nation's friendliest residents.

There is a large student population in Newcastle owing to having two high-ranking universities within the city which gives the city a young and vibrant feel among other cities in North East. Coupled with the friendly nature of the region's inhabitants this has given Newcastle a reputation for being an exciting destination with a 24 hour lifestyle, however as much of the North-East is rural or semi-rural in nature you'll never be too far away from grand open spaces and nature making it the perfect location for bringing up family. Situated on the river Tyne as the name suggests the city is bordered by Gateshead to the South which shares much of the city's offering. However being central to the region Newcastle is surrounded by further jewels in the North East's crown, a gateway to Northumberland, Tynedale, coastal areas of North & South Tyneside to name a few.

Of course we may be a little biased being from the North-East ourselves but we could talk about the area for much longer than the space we have here, we can only recommend you follow some of the links in this section to read further about the area, or you could just come and visit and see for yourselves, we're sure you won't regret it! We have detailed knowledge of the area so if you have questions (especially about how to move your home here) you can always contact us, we'll do our best to point you in the right direction.

If you're considering a move to Newcastle then it's worth using a local removals company who knows the area. Of course we would love you to choose Turton's as your removals partner but there are a number of removal companies in the area for you to consider, just be sure to get quotes from any company you look at and check any recent reviews to be sure it's the right fit for your move. We have a number of articles and posts on our moving blog to help you get the most out your move.

Covid-19 information

Please note we are taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of you, your loved ones and our members of staff, whilst this has changed a lot of our procedures we have made every effort to ensure this doesn't negatively affect your move. Especially with the rise of new variants in recent weeks. We now conduct all of our surveys via video call as a precaution but if required we can offer to call out to do the survey in person, however we ask that government guidelines are followed during the visit to ensure both ours and your safety.

While government advice has relaxed recently regarding face coverings and gatherings we feel our position of entering people's homes and businesses still carries an increased risk. As such we will continue to monitor our staff and take adequate precautions to reduce the risk of spreading the virus unnecessarily, hopefully this will not be for much longer as we, for one, are keen to get back to normality as soon as possible.

Our remote surveys have proved to be a very useful tool during this crisis with very positive comments from our clients. If one thing is to come from this terrible situation it may be that we can take some of these changed processes forward to improve our service. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve feel free to get in touch. We'd love to hear from you.
